A few simple "Do It Yourself"

Thanks to your ten fingers and a little idea, your old, damaged and useless objects become nice little pieces of furniture and accessories for your home. I will describe some of them to you and it's your turn.

Don't hesitate to send me pictures of your creations that I will share on my blog with pleasure!

  • Idea n°1: Glass jars as garden or interior lights

For this you need a light bulb, an electric wire connected to the bulb, a hammer, 4 nails.

1) Make a circular hole in the lid of the glass jar.
2) Insert the bulb and close it with a cap that will surround the same coloured thread.
4) Nail your cap to the lid of the jar with your 4 screws and check that no water can enter the jar (it must be airtight!).
5) Be careful when connecting to the electricity.

And that's it!

  • Idea n°2: Decorative wine boxes

For this you need 4 nice, light and clean cases of wine, paint or patterned paper napkins, paper glue, nails or adhesive.

1) Paint the inside contour of your crates in the colour of your choice with a special wood paint.
2) You can glue a nice paper towel with transparent paper glue to the bottom of your box.
3) You can add wooden shelves by making notches on each side of the box.
4) Nail your box to the wall or buy strong adhesive.

And that's it!

  • Idea n°3: The Taurus coat hanger

For this you need 6 wooden hangers and a large black thick felt plate, fabric glue and a saw.

1) Cut out 6 shapes representing half bull heads from the black felt plate. Assemble them with fabric glue.
2) Nail them to the wall to form 3 bull heads.
4) Saw one side of each hanger (3 times right and 3 times left).
5) Assemble them with wood glue and glue them on the heads hanging on the wall.

And that's it!

  • Idea n°4: Pop and modern vases

For this you need a glass beer bottle, a glass coke bottle and two glass jars of jam as well as opaque paint in the colour of your choice (two different colours minimum if possible).

1) Wash your glass containers
2) Paint them with the opaque paint in two thin coats.
3) Let it dry overnight
4) Decorate them with flowers

And that's it!

  • Idea n°5: Canning jar for plants

For this you need cans of the same size, stainless steel paint and plants.

1) Clean the cans and make small holes in the bottom to let the water pass through.
2) Crumple the cans by squeezing them
3) Paint them in gold or silver with a special steel paint.
4) Add soil in and plant small plants in it.

And that's it!
