Broke student? Decorate your apartment cheaply

You are moving into a student studio that you are renting and you want to make it a real cocoon without damaging it? In this article you will find many tips and cheap items to make you feel at home.

When you are a student, it is not always easy to decorate your home: it is too small, you have a mini budget, you don't want to damage it in order to get the deposit back...
Having a student studio doesn't mean having a lifeless studio, especially since this period rhymes with both the stress of studying and parties with friends, which means that it is imperative to take ownership of the environment to feel comfortable. With a carpet, curtains and plants, you can make your little apartment your paradise! As a student myself, I tried these tips and here are the results.

  • Tip 1: Find a big mirror
It allows to enlarge a room and to make the light reflect, do not hesitate to put it on the floor to avoid damaging anything. It also allows you to admire yourself with the new shirt you bought.
  • Tip 2: Decorate your walls without drilling or making holes. 
Feel free to use masking tape to create a moodboard that looks like you, i.e. take pictures with your friends and family and mix them with pictures you find in magazines, postcards and posters you can show in any home decoration store.
  • Tip 3: Separate space 
In a studio you may be able to find your bed next to the fridge. In order to create a real sleeping area you can use a glass roof, a bookcase, a chest of drawers or a sofa. 
  • Tip 4: Colour, colour, colour!
To bring life to your apartment without repainting the walls, opt for colourful furniture, sofas or cushions! 
  • Tip 5: Add plants for more life
Take 2 to 3 succulent plants for example because they absorb the humidity of a room, very practical for a kitchen, a bathroom especially in a student studio!
